Authentic thai food, some great flavours, spicy and delicious.. a little disorganized but we'll meaning, good service. Try it.. but then...Second visit was terrible, bland food, poor service.. Wow what a turnaround.!!!

After reading these reviews we had to give this restaurant a try. What a BIG MISTAKE. Rude service, dirty tables, tasteless food and overpriced. Our worst meal after 10 days in Thailand by far. We visited 8 pm, 29 NovemberWe had sliced duck, prawn with vegetables, deep fried prawns in tamarind sauce, rice and chips.

Nice place, great service. Red duck curry was tasty. White snapper was slightly over baked. Overall good value for money, recommend.

This is my favorite place. Very tasty food but prices are higher than few years ago when the restaurant was on the Karon.

Excellent Thai food, especially the stir fried squid with crispy shallots. The pineapple fried rice is also a must try !

Awesome food at Karon Beach. Small place but can't be missed because of the line out the door! We went a number of times because all the food we had was awesome and very well priced. Kind staff, offered to lend us an umbrella overnight as a big storm hit as we finished dinner. If you miss this at Karon, you'll miss one of the better restaurant's.

Simple place with reasonably priced food. Excellent quality of food and good service. Nice cocktails too. You should visit this place if you want to enjoy good Thai food.

Very tasty, the fried fish with garlic and the duck red curry are both really good

Absolut fantastic seafood restaurant. high quality food, fast and efficient service at very reasonable prices. try the crispy duck breast, a real hit. watch out, evenings there are waiting queue's in high season.

A quieter place to dine. Leave the constant turnover of tables & loud chatter, enjoy more space, good food & service @ the Red Onion. Best Massamam curry of anywhere I've tried.

Went here on reputation, visited twice to make sure and wow fantastic - do yourself a favour if you're in Karon visit the Red Onion and eat big.Huge menu, good prices and great food.

Be assaulted by a red onion waitress! Our family stood waiting. Suddenly, the waitress pushed my husband and my 4-year-old daughter with her hand. Then she shouted out loud in Thailand and shouted at the table to point out the people who were sitting at the table. Because my child fell down I protested, then the waiter punched my arm with his fist. Another waiter shouted and yelled loudly in Thai. They held up their arms to attack us. I called the police and asked for help. However, I repeated the need to come the police directly. Their behavior is clearly criminal! Our trip was completely spoiled by the Red Onion Thai Restaurant!

Always reliable but often very busy and not always open.If you can get a seat this resturant is well worth the effort.Extensive well priced menu.

Great food, good prices, one of the oldest restaurants in the Kata area. A service could be a bit slow sometimes but everything is compensated with the great dishes :-)

Best food what I had in Phuket! Very delicious! Prices are good also. We will eat only here for the rest of our vacation! :)Only one thing to say: fans are need to be cleaned from dirt and dust but stuff are calm and nice. Thank you!♥

It has moved from the main road in Karon to Kata. Quiet back street. Same great food. Reasonable prices. Great service.

We have been coming to Phuket for what must be about 10 years. We discovered this place after we were recommended by a friend from home. Since then it has been our number one place to eat in Phuket. Great food at reasonable prices and good service too. They have recently moved from patak road karon to kata which suits us perfectly as we stay in kata. The seseme crispy duck and the friend rice in the pineapple are our standard order along with Chang beer (always cold) but everything on their extensive menu is well cooked and beautifully presented. Hope to be visiting this restaurant for another 10 years or more.

Fresh authentic ingredients and too good to express with words. What you expect when traveling to Thailand. We had the pork salad, Tom yam, and duck in red curry. All amazing. Muscles with lemongrass was very fresh and looked amazing with the bright green she's and bright red muscles but it was a little dry. Worth the wait!!!!!

Rewriting my review and rating. Originally a 4 it's been downgraded to a 2. The entire meal tonight was inedible. I give it two stars because the first time we went out was at least decent. We are spoilt for good food and Thai food in Australia.

We ordered shrimps with garlic and duck meat and can say that this was the most delicious food in Thailand so far. Great kitchen and price, giving 4 stars only for the waitress as she was very annoyed from her job and there was no even one thank you or smile

this is a very place to come for dinner, the food is very tasty and very affordable prices. stir fry noodles and curry were delicious. tom yum soup is not my favorite bit still good. I prefer clear tom yum soup here they serve it with coconut milk. the price was around 700bht for 3 dishes and 3 beers.

The staff were so so nice. We got a parking fine as parking on that side of the street is only allowed on even days. One of the staff took my husband to the police station straight away on his bike so the fine could be paid and unlock our wheel. The food was great and very reasonably priced with generous portions.

What a fantastic meal! Came here November of 2018. Lunch time was not busy at all but everything we ordered was delicious!We had garlic pepper shrimp, pineapple fried rice, pad Thai and Tom yum soup. And don’t forget the fruit smoothies/shakes!

Tasty Thai food at a reasonable price. Curry is 120 baht, fried noodles around 90 baht. The coconut shakes are the best!

Been coming for the last 3 years to Karon Phuket and everytime we eat at Red Onion we are always satisfied great food, service, value for money, when we come back they'll have moved to Kata, so definitely be going there just to eat love it thanks to all the staff

Food is real good. Winners were the steamed fish, spicy steamed seafood and pineapple rice.

Just the best that Karon has to offer. Fresh, great flavors, nice and spicy hot and gracious, friendly people!
